YCN Hand in

It was never our intention this year to enter competitions. However we are proud of the NPG project so far so we have decided to enter it into the YCN awards to see how it fairs. Entering the competition turned out to be a smart move. By entering we forced ourselves to explain the idea in its simplest form. This has helped us a great deal, as we had a bit of trouble putting our big idea into a short amount of words. This will come in handy for when we hand in our final work for Uni as-well. Fingers crossed they like it.

Here are the three boards that we mounted and handed in:

YO BOOOIII WE GOTZ MAD HITZ

This is how many hits we've got, you can see them broken down into how many hits each ep. has got.

Advertising in Soho

Earlier on in the blog we researched local places where creatives hang out in Soho. The brief asks us to keep the campaign localised and this technique ticks the box. We have placed flyers advertising the website and the episodes in local creative hang outs. The Dog and Duck is a common place for people in the creative industry to socialize so we placed a few flers in and around the pub. The pub also plays a role in the episodes. A local sandwich shop is targeted aswell as a cab office. All of these places have been carefully thought out and targeted towards creatives.

Final Shots and promo stuff.

Here are the final print executions for NPG, what we wanted to convey was a look and feel that gets across the personality of us in the episodes and carries on the brand identity of the website. It also intrigues with a kind of "what is it?" quality, is it a documentary or a film or what? A lot of the pics are VERY tongue in cheek, especially the one with the arm.

The Shoot.

After a massively amusing and successful shoot for the print/website promo stuff we've got some choosing, editing and retouching to do!

The website!

So after a tedious few ours spent in front of the screen tweaking small aspects of the website we are finally up and running. As you can see we have opted for a simple polished black and white theme that will plays a constant role in the print campaign and everything else 'placement team'. On the website we have created the ability to view all the episodes via the amazing 'vimeo'. Other features include email - so we can receive feedback and the ability to read the very brief that we worked on. Feel free to visit the website here.

Thank you Monica and Joomla

Took a while but we got there. After talks with Monica we decided to create a simple platform website that would be perfect to host our episodes. We were advised to use a website template from Joomla. Joomla helps you maintain your website and gives you simple tips. We found that this worked in a very similar way to a blog but a bit more complicated. When we did come across a problem we could talk with Monica or go onto chat forums where people had come across the same problems. We need to add a few more finishing touches to the website and hopefully all will be up and running in no time.
